Summary
“It’s retail, mate. I’m not expecting perfection from some twenty-something dairy stocker. I know it’s not your passion—hell, it’s not mine either. It’s nobody’s, really, is it? You’d have to be properly mad, maybe even a bit masochistic, to actually enjoy it.”
Alex swallows, because he sometimes worries that he could very well be both of those things.

Summary
“I’m not… It’s probably best for you to just leave,” Greg manages after opening and closing his mouth a few times, the sentence sticking in his throat.
“Absolutely not,” Alex blurts, indignant that Greg would, for a single second, imagine that he would leave now.
Greg seems to collapse in on himself, slumping down on to the nearest chair, not even bothering to move the detritus currently littering its surface. He seems flat and empty and it’s this more than the mess that sends a shiver through Alex’s body.
“I’m not leaving until you tell me what’s going on,” Alex says, widening his stance as though part of him expects a physical fight from Greg in response to Alex’s assertion.
“I’ve fucked everything up.” Greg’s voice is shaky and weak, muffled from his head being between his hands.

Summary
“I wondered if this was what was wrong,” Alex says, voice lower and deeper than usual.
“If what was wrong?” Greg can’t help saying, trying to buy himself some time to figure out why he’s acting like this, why his body is betraying him.
Alex scoffs. “Don’t be obtuse, Greg. Let’s just be honest. You don’t like the dynamic on the show because you want to be the one on your knees, not me.”

That’s the tricky thing about these feelings, isn’t it?
