Summary
Not many, not even among the Eglain of Doriath, knew the true nature of Melian's Girdle. Iathrim they were called, people of the fence after which their land itself had been named, and thus the Girdle existed in many minds—as a barrier that lay hidden somewhere in that great forest with its ancient neldyr and brethil and its thick, indomitable undergrowth.
In truth, there was no such thing: for if anything could be called Melian's Girdle, it was the unseen vastness of the reticulate twining mesh of roots below the soft ground, not so much a belt or fence as it was a cradle into which all creatures of Doriath were laid.

Summary
Thranduil wakes gradually, slowly, to the touch of gentle hands on his back. As he pleasantly floats from peaceful sleep into awareness, the last fleeting remnants of the night's dream slip away, fading into insubstantial whispers at the edges of his consciousness.
Thranduil wakes up. Then, with the unexpected help of Lindir, he wakes up. Things escalate and prove harder to deal with than thought. Meanwhile, Elrond is his usual sweet minded self and just happy to be there.

Summary
An exploration of a version of the Legendarium where Thranduil's unnamed spouse and Legolas's second parent is Finrod Felagund — an idea that, absurd as it seems on the surface, actually fits surprisingly well with canon. Originally inspired by this post on tumblr, with additional brainstorming found here. A ridiculous possibility, yes; but one that has been surprisingly fun to approach seriously.
