Voldemort, self-proclaimed Dark Lord, receives new that a child of a foe that defied him trice would be the only thing that would defeat him. There were two children that fit the prophecy. He decided to ensure that the prophecy will not come to pass.
On October 31, 1981, Voldemort killed James Potter and Lili Potter. He pointed his wand at their 15-month-old daughter and cast his spell. A flash of green light and the Dark Lord was no more.
The Wizarding World celebrated while Albus Dumbledore plotted. He arranged for the Potter child to be dropped off at the doorstep of Lili’s sister, Malee Petunia Evans Lee. The doorstep just happens to be located in a Thai bar/brothel where the child’s aunt worked. A harsh upbringing by godless heathens would ensure that the Potter heir would be a mewing, pliable, emotionally weak child that would do anything he wished for a little affection and approval. Summary
Everyone (but Cedric) lives! The marauders live and raise Harry. Regulus successfully destroyed the locket, told everyone Peter is a Death Eater, and then the marauders and Regulus destroy all of the Horcruxes and kill Voldemort. The gang all come and teach at Hogwarts. At the end of Harry’s fourth year, Cedric dies in a tragic accident in the quidditch finals against Gryffindor. Harry struggles to cope and turns to unhealthy coping mechanisms. Aka awful things still happen to Harry, but he has proper adult support around him.
