Summary
After Wei Wuxian's death, Lan Wangji went insane, doing everything in his power to get back his most precious person. Willing to sacrifice every single person in the cultivation world to reclaim his love.
He succeeds, and with the use of a blood-fueled array, went back in time to when he first met his Wei Ying: As children, in the streets of Yiling. With his fully adult mind, his obsession with Wei Ying, and his disillusioned views on the cultivation world, Lan Zhan decides to manipulate the world to his liking. A world where he rules, where he decides what is justice, who lives and who dies.
But there are higher powers fighting in the background, a bigger mystery afoot, perhaps greater than the cultivation world.

When Lan Wangji went back in time to the first time he met Wei Wuxian, he thought it would be on their spar on the rooftops. He thought of how much he would have to change their interactions through the Cloud Recesses, how he would have to find a way to split Wei Wuxian from the Jiangs…
But when he came to his body, he found himself holding out a toy drum to a little child, a little A-Ying, in the streets of Yilling.
'Huh.' Lan Wangji thought as the little boy smiled up at him. 'This will be easier than I thought.'
Or: After Wei Wuxian’s death, something broke in Lan Wangji. He would do anything to get the love of his life back, safely in his arms. Even rewrite history.
