Summary
The footsteps moved closer, slowly this time. Kaveh's spine stiffened as he listened.
Every hair on the back of the architect's neck stood up, and a shiver wracked his entire body. "...who—ah?!"
A large hand pressed down on Kaveh's lower back as a deep, unfamiliar voice hummed appreciatively. Kaveh yelped, thrashing in a futile attempt to escape the unwelcome touch. "H-hey! Who are you?! You can't just put your hands on a stranger!" He shouted, and the man kneeling down to touch him chuckled.
The hand on his back rubbed slow circles over his shirt. It was a mockery of a soothing gesture. "Now, now, boy. We're adventurers, same as you. Don't you know it's first come first serve when you enter ruins and find a treasure?"

Summary
As soon as they stepped into the kitchen, Dorian felt his throat tighten. Albedo stood by the stove, methodically flipping pancakes while Durin was already seated at the table humming a cheerful tone.
Being near one of them was bad enough. Both at once felt like a cruel punishment he did not deserve.
Dorian’s instincts screamed at him to turn around and leave before anyone noticed he was there. But he didn’t. The only thing stopping him was the surprisingly firm grip Klee still had on his hand that and the fact that he wouldn’t bring himself to disappoint her by walking away.
Or Subject Two aka Dorian is attempting to live a normal life with his family… as normal as it can be when two of his three siblings are the reason he’s already died twice.

Summary
Durin approaches from the outside of what must have been a rib cage. The bones are even larger up close, as wide as a tree trunk, enough to wrap his entire armspan around it. He steps around to the middle, staring out from the belly of the beast; could the heart of such a creature even fit inside this tiny form? Wide-eyed and shivering, he pulls off a glove and presses his palm to a bone, rough and worn-down from years of harsh weather. He’s never seen the framework beneath his own skin. Might it look something like this, about a thousand times smaller?
“Durin,” Albedo calls, and suddenly his arms are braced around Durin’s shoulders like he’s consoling him. Does he need consoling? He doesn’t think he’s crying, but his cheeks are too numb with cold to tell.
