Cuando Tim cumplió 16 años, el mensaje alarmante Alfred, que luego resultó ser una retorcida prueba de Bruce para probar la capacidad de Tim y volverlo tan paranoico como Bruce, fue tan estresante y drenante que Tim olvidó por completo revisar su muñeca izquierda en busca de la marca de su alma gemela.
Para cuando recordó que la marca había aparecido habían pasado ya siete meses y había estado tan agotado de estar vivo que no sintió ninguna necesidad de revisarla, así que la dejó estar, pensando que podría revisarla más adelante, cuando estuviera en un mejor estado mental. Pero más adelante nunca llegó.
