The screen loaded for a moment, fading to black. A second later, it jumped back on, showing the grainy image of security cameras aimed into a small room. And in that room, was a kid, quiet and unmoving, forced into a straitjacket, and wearing peculiar shoes. Steve blinked towards the screen, his fingers curling to fists.
"That’s the kid from the airport?" he asked.
Sam nodded, "Yeah. Peter Benjamin Parker. Confined to the raft since two days ago. They tagged him number twenty-four."

In the beginning, God made the heavens and the earth. And then God made humans. Some he made Alpha, some Beta, some Omega. There were some that he made for each other. Some were born to gravitate to one another, their hands made to hold, their hearts to love. Sometimes it wasn’t always easy, some loved and lost, or lost before they could love. Some were nudged towards each other as infants and ripped away as soon as adults realized they were two halves of one whole. Some lives are so intertwined, that if one died, it would be too cruel to not let them both go.
Whatever God had made, it wasn’t what the world had taken it to be. In 2011, the frozen body of Captain America was found in the depths of the Arctic, hauled out and thawed. The world waited with baited breath for their favorite hero to smile in thanks for having been saved. The world waited. And waited. Captain America never thanked them. Steve Rogers, who would have rathered stayed dead, cursed them.
In 1945, just a few months after the death of Bucky Barnes, Steve Rogers drove the Valkyrie into the ice without a second thought because it was the end of the line. Not because he was a brave Alpha, but because he was a grieving Omega.

He saw Thanos snapping his fingers and then tyrant's confusion and fear. If he was about to die, that was going to be worth it. He noticed Bucky fighting in the background, Tony and Carol watching him closely, Thanos' devastated look and he smiled. That was it, he thought.
He snapped his fingers and fell lifelessly on the ground.
