There was a prophecy that the Great Kingdom of Lanling would one day crumble at the hands of a boy born in the waning days of the first month. Therefore, Emperor Jin Guangshan decreed that all infant sons be put to death under the disguise of ‘a noble sacrifice for the greater good’.
It was widely known throughout Lanling that Qingheng-Jun of the Lan Noble Family was blessed with two children: a son and a daughter.
“Zewu-Jun of the Lan Nobel Family has shown incredible devotion to the Great Kingdom of Lanling. Thus, the Emperor Jin Guangshan bestows a marriage between Young Lady Lan Wangji and Lanling’s best general, Wei Wuxian. Young Lady Lan Wangji, do you accept this decree?”
Lan Wangji felt dread spread throughout his body.

Summary
Wei Wuxian was probably the worst person imaginable to build a nest but here he was, carefully arranging spare blankets, pillows, and even a threadbare underrobe he had found in the depths of their closet. He barely knew what he was doing, drawing heavily from vague, ancient memories from his childhood when his father had built nests for his mother and him. His mother has always laughed and praised his father for his "wonderful nesting instincts" and Wei Wuxian suspected he might have inherited them from him, underdeveloped as they were. At least they were not useless and he had always been a quick learner.
(With his husband suffering from a brutal migraine, Wei Wuxian will do his very best to make him as comfortable as possible. Things... go a little bit differently than planned, thanks to Wei Wuxian being unable to say 'no' to whatever Lan Wangji wants.)
