Summary
Inspired by Slave Traders - A Jack and Sam Story by TuruaSam. This series was inspired by TuruaSam.
The Alterans were a species that was OLD when they met the YOUNG Asgard. I touch on Alteran history in this universe. I demonstrate how a species over 50 MILLION YEARS OLD fled their home galaxy to avoid religious prosecution. They chose the unknown over certain death. They chose to explore. However, even the wise can be stupid.
World building for this AU. Most of the history is canon. However, how a young species perceives that age and wisdom is taken into account. This AU is canon divergent and not canon compliant! I made minor alterations to history for Jack and Sam from canon. The story starts with mostly canon points. Ascended Anubis (unfortunately). Most changes are classified as 'behind the scenes'.
Jack: Jack’s changes may be canon. We just don’t know.
1) Hathor’s snake died in Jack. Naquadah in blood. Guinea Pig paranoia.
2) Birthday confusion is a plot point.
3) His family. World building on ATA history.Sam: Sam’s changes are decidedly NOT canon.
1) Pete did not propose. He is just her boyfriend.
2) Sam had PTSD after Fifth’s torture.

"He made a horcrux," Arcturus said with veiled disdain, "Vile as that is, it is not the reason we are intervening."
The boy raised an eyebrow, barely concealed disbelief on his face. "How did you put in again? What could a half-blood pretender of insignificant heritage have done to incur the wrath of Lord Black?"
His grandfather smirked, eyes coldly watching him. "His...activities..very nearly resulted in the death of one of our House."
Sirius's eyes narrowed, "Who? It must have been someone of great importance. Nothing else would bring you to my home."
"Regulus Black."
"Dumbledore needs children to fight a war. I need an Heir to preserve our legacy." His eyes bored into Sirius's own, "Regulus," Sirius froze at his name, "Regulus has already made choices. You will need to make yours soon. But know this, Sirius Orion. There are forces that even gods cannot control. We are one of them. Blacks do not bow, my child. Not to Dark Lords. Nor to self-proclaimed saviours. Remember that."

Summary
It has been one year after the war. Harry hasn't felt whole from the moment Sirius died. He felt it would be poetic if he died in the same place as Sirius on his birthday.
But things never went the way Harry wanted them to. They never did. He received a letter from Gringotts on his 19th birthday. He discovered quite a lot that morning. He planned to quietly end his life, but this visit to Gringotts changed his mind. He was going to go back, take Death's offer that he was offered when he was hit with the killing curse, and wreck havoc on people who made his life a misery.

With limited options, aside from honourable discharge, her father pulls some strings to get her on an off world mission in the Pegasus Galaxy. While she would be millions of lightyears away, and fighting unknown enemies, in a war that's not hers, this might just be the only chance she's got at a normal life.
