Wooyoung, a transman who knew, too well, how to hide in plain sight, learned also how to hate himself and others trapped in this small town; drier than a dust bowl but recently, growing. A new train depot. A new railmarshal.
But every day for Woo was the same; he wishes he weren’t happy his daddy was dead, wishes he could quit that dead-end job at the Inn washing bedding and scrubbing men’s backs for half-pennies. The job his mother had done her whole life, too. A whore’s lot. He feels like there’s nothing left but this. Til a stranger comes into town, and makes everything much, much worse.
