“Do I know you?”
“I wanted to meet you,” Shane said, stepping forward and holding out his hand. “Shane Hollander.”
Rozanov looked at his hand for a long moment before shifting his cigarette to his lips and taking it between his teeth so he could shake it.
“Ilya Rozanov, right?” Shane said. “You’re really good. I used to watch you a lot. In Hockey I mean.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said flatly. “You are hockey player?”
“Yeah,” Shane said, now unsure again.
Just as quickly, Rozanov relaxed. The tension was gone, replaced by a more deliberate composure. He leaned back against the wall again, tilted his head, and gave a small smile that looked more practiced than felt.
“Are you looking for a fuck?” Rozanov asked, casual and direct. “I’m very discreet. And cheap.”
