Summary
Kris turns their head sideways, and speaks aloud. "What are you?"
There is silence for a moment, before Kris hears a voice respond. (I would think you would already know that.)
"I would like to hear it from you."
The voice chuckles. (Alright, since you've been such a lovely vessel, I'll humor you. To you and to this world I am... an observer. Someone who listens to the forest so trees can fall and make a sound; to give light to the darkness.)

Bookmarker's Notes
This moment plus dream thing
[Andrew should have known better than to have worded his words the way he did. With Neil Andrew sometimes had to speak like the protagonist in a book about fae. While Neil probably wasn’t fae (no one should be this damn enchanting in real life) he could twist words like the best of them.]

Summary
“I was wondering…” Neil stopped, but continued as he tried to clear his mind, “... if Bee ever asked you to write.”
“Write.” Andrew repeated.
“Yes, keeping a diary, maybe? Or just, you know, write a short story or something.”
“Funny you asked that.” Andrew replied, except there was no hint of humor in his voice and expression. “Why?”
“No reason.” Neil said. “You could be a great writer.” He felt the fingers on his nape pressed onto his skin, but he continued, “When we read those books, you actually can guess where the story will be going. That’s impressive.”(or: Neil wanted to know if Andrew had ever written something. He meant a journal or something Andrew could pour his words onto, Neil didn’t expect a whole novel written by Andrew.)

Summary
Neil is a successful author with a stalker who seems to know a little too much about his past. He needs a bodyguard for his upcoming book tour. Enter: Andrew Minyard.
I've marked this as Graphic Descriptions of Violence out of an abundance of caution, but I don't even come near the source material here.
“Kevin Day told me about you.” The corners of Neil’s mouth lift the barest degree. It should be an unassuming, polite smile. Should be.
Andrew isn’t convinced. He hums and leans back in his seat. “You know Kevin.”
“We go way back,” Neil explains. He’s not giving any signs that indicate he’s lying, but still. Kevin usually holds his liquor better than he holds his secrets but Andrew thought he knew everyone Kevin has known since Palmetto State and he’d remember if this guy had been in the Nest.
“He’s never mentioned you,” Andrew says.
“I rarely mention him,” Neil replies easily.
