The only person who truly seemed to recognize his effort was Robert. Robert was sweet, kind, and sure, maybe a bit too lenient on Waterboy. It made sense when Herm realized the feelings he had quickly caught for Robert. What didn’t make sense to the younger man, was the feelings he had unexpectedly gotten and tried to ignore for Flambae of all people. The older man was the complete opposite of Robert. Flambae was arrogant, irritating and honestly, kind of mean. Not even kind of, he was mean. So why did that make Herman’s cheeks heat and his stomach warm the same way Robert’s sweet and caring praise did.
