A narrow escape is nothing unusual. There had been many in Lar'dha's career--from walking into his own trap as an Unblooded, to nearly losing a leg to a camouflaged crocodilian creature--but he'd never escaped death with a companion before. At least, not with a companion who wasn't a Yautja.
Her skills were undeniable, certainly, and rejecting her request to hunt the mastermind of their suffering wasn't something he was keen to do--it was personal, after all--but the question remained: what now? Even as an Elite, he didn't really know how to work together in a team anymore, effortless as it had felt at the time. But now it was different.
They could communicate. Coordinate.
Express themselves legibly. And that usually caused him conflict.
Nevermind he was noticing some... Strange and concerning behaviors in his companion, the serpent woman, Sjajende'kolii. Her containment had been much longer than his, her afflictions more intense and he could only guess as to what she'd been subjected to outside the walls of the holding cell, but if he knew anything, it was that even Yautja were not immune to certain...
