Jonathan snakes his hand into Edward’s hair and yanks his head back. It earns him another gasp. “You’re welcome to plead your case if you like, darlin’," he says with a cruel twist of his mouth. "Tell me why I should give you what you so desperately crave.”
OR: A breakout at Arkham gives Edward and Jonathan enough time to enjoy each other's company. Or rather, Jonathan enjoys himself at Edward's expense—and Edward isn't quiet about how much he hates him for it.

Summary
In retrospect, when Jonathan knew, it was obvious. So obvious he couldn’t believe he hadn’t seen it before. It kept him up late into the night, alone, thinking of all the times Edward had shown his hand. Playing poker with all his chips on the table, knowing he’d lose in the end, but still refusing to fold.
True masochism – Or maybe he just honestly couldn’t help it. The latter idea hurt Jonathan more.
