“Besides…” Agent Wong trailed off, her eyes drifting back to the photo clipped to the file on Xie Jiahua’s desk. He was suddenly struck with the impending feeling of doom. “Inspector Lu seems like a bright and promising young man.” Then she smirked and Xie Jiahua fought the urge to slam his head against the wall. Or her head. Or both of their heads so they could stop this conversation from going wherever it was going. “I must say I chose well. He’s quite attractive, isn’t he? Perfect to play your spoiled, younger lover.”
Unwillingly, Xie Jiahua also looked down at the picture.
And there is was, the root of his problem, the bane of existence at the moment, the cause for the dull throbbing at the back of his skull.
