Dick tries, desperately, to keep the hope in his chest alive. “No clue. Bruce and- and Robin are fighting, or something. I haven’t really asked.”
Wally’s response to that, at first, is just this sharp little noise. “Guess you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, huh?” he says only a moment later. “Or- is it an old bat, in this case? Doesn’t really sound as catchy though…”
Or: Dick Grayson is called back to Gotham to help out with protecting the city. It doesn't take long for everything to fall apart.

“Like…?” Damian prompts.
“Impossible to say for sure without eyes in the actual room,” Tim says, “Which is why I’m going.”
“As the head of Drake Industries and majority shareholder for Wayne Enterprises?”
“As a hired hand,” Tim corrects, “I stand out too much in my established civilian identity. Waitstaff and caterers overhear much more.”
“And you needed Jason and Richard to accompany you?”
“Oh, no, they’re not involved,” Tim says, gesturing vaguely, “Jason is working out a weapons deal he doesn’t want Bruce to know about, and Dick is meeting up with a booty call.”

Maybe one day Damian will learn what the phrase "mind your own business" means.

Dick gets a call in the midst of his heat informing him that Bruce has been kidnapped and is likely compromised due to an Ivy concoction. Dick refuses to get any of his family involved, well aware how dangerous Bruce is when in a rage. Slade is unfortunately the only person Dick can think of that can go toe to toe with a feral Batman long enough for a rescue.
