That doesn't stop Tommy from dipping his toes into the matter, in the most chaotic and dangerous ways possible.

Without his permission, a chirp managed to escape, almost masked by his cries and incomprehensible pleading.

Zephyrus paused in his approach, tensing at the sound and staring at Tommy, straightening up to his full height.
Tommy’s breathing became more frantic with the realisation that the man had heard. He knew now. That wasn’t good, that wasn’t safe. They were going to hurt him, they were going to kill him, Tommy didn’t want to die.
A coo reached his ears, the sound dancing on the wind. Safe-calm-protected.

Tommy is an avian hybrid training to be a hero. A wrench is thrown into his plans when he meets the Syndicate leader Zephyrus, and for some reason, his instincts seem to adore him. Hatake Sakumo, the White Fang of Konoha, was sent to investigate or possibly eliminate the so-called Corpse Eating Demon sighted around the Konoha-Ame border to assuage the locals' worries of said monster. It was a relatively easy mission that the Hokage sent him as a breather after the back to back S to A rank missions. It was thoughtful of him, but with both Tsunade and Jiraiya going AWOL, he doesn't really have much of a choice but to pick up the slack.When he got there, instead of the supposed demon or a nuke-nin or even an ordinary gang of bandits, Sakumo finds a scruffy looking child with a scent that identifies him as a Hatake.
