“I… I’m sorry. I was trying to get you to invite me in,” Draco stammered. His body and his mind had become hopelessly out of step.
“And then I did,” Hermione replied, sliding higher against his thighs. “And you kissed me again.”“I… Granger. Hermione.” He drew a breath, searching for something, anything, that could make sense of what was happening. “I’m sorry. I know it was wrong. I shouldn’t have taken advantage like that. You were just…” He trailed off, thoroughly undone, bewildered by the lioness poised for an attack upon his legs.
“I was just what, Draco?” she asked, tilting her head. “Too tempting?”

Draco appreciated the slow, smoky burn as the whisky travelled down his throat, when he heard a familiar voice speak up in the booth right behind him.
“Well, hello there.” The dulcet tones of the youngest male Weasel. Ginger git. Draco rolled his eyes at the Weasel's sad attempt of sounding seductive. Please. He had the sex-appeal of a kitchen cabinet. Draco snorted and lifted his glass to drink from his whisky again, but stopped when he heard the answering giggle. That - no, that was not her. What would she be doing here anyway, on a Monday night? She had things to do, lives to save, worlds to change, books to read. It couldn’t be her. The giggle was too light, too air-headed to come from that magnificent witch.Or - Draco sits by himself in a pub and hears something that he does not believe can be true. And yet - it is.
A slightly Christmassy one-shot with Ron bashing (no physical violence directed against him, I am against animal cruelty) and Draco finding out that all good will come to those who wait. HEA guaranteed, of course.

Draco Malfoy leaves Azkaban after four years, seven months, and nineteen days with nothing but the wrecked remnants of his Occlumency and the system he built in his mind to replace it. Those years taught him only one thing. If he counted, the thoughts would quiet down eventually.
It would never be a life of peace but Draco at least would know function.
Except Hermione Granger keeps showing up in his lift on Thursday mornings to ruin everything.
