Ruby sleeps through the Grimm attack that would have inspired her love of the scythe, instead she dreams deep and conceives an idea most ingenious.
The roars of the creatures Grimm send her spiraling into a nightmare filling her mind with images of a tar covered beast unlike any Grimm ever seen. Luckily her mind provides a hero to defend her as her once silver eyes now glimmer like sapphires.
Waking up none, the wiser Ruby has a weapon in mind and a new understanding of what it means to hunt.

No one could remember exactly when it had opened. Only that one day there had been a boarded up storefront one day, and then seemingly the next the sale signs had come down, and it had been renovated.
The proprietor was a young woman with black hair that ended in red tips named Ruby Rose.
Ruby Rose had the body, and build of a huntress, but anytime someone built up the courage to ask she’d always laugh it off, and claim she most assuredly was not one.
The young woman had bought the entire derelict block, and renovated it. The fact that it was just on the inside of the border between the upper class district, and poorer, more crime ridden section of town had explained how she’d managed to afford it to most who thought to wonder.
Strangely despite the ‘Roseworks’ being open for business it’s doors never appeared to be open, and yet somehow it remained that way.
