Summary
One-shots, scenes, and short stories that need to go somewhere because my drive is full. TwT
Each chapter is separate (unless otherwise noted), nothing is contemporary. Some quirks of my take on the IEYTD universe might creep in here, but you don't need to know about it to figure out what's going on. Good luck, agents. :3

Summary
From the very first days of their assignment to the EOD, new agents are in the thick of the action. The rate of attrition is too high for the Agency to wait on new blood. The Digits, as veteran agents have come to call rookies with an intake number but no callsign, are still undergoing training even as they're sent on their first forays into harm’s way.
Handlers try to be gentle – to remind these eager young souls that they have the right to refuse a mission, to select the shortest and simplest objectives from the missions on the table – but even their precautions aren't enough to stem the bleeding. Invariably, every generation of Digits loses a proportion of their peers to the memorial wall on the sixth floor of HQ, where their smiling young faces etched in bronze are remembered only by their numbers.
Agent Fourteen would not be one of them.

Summary
It’s a strange dichotomy, being suspended in the air and yet unable to fly.
Agent feels it down through their hollow bones. There’s no gravity in space, and the casual weightlessness is…strange. It’s not like flying at all, but their feet aren’t touching the ground. Their Source is the sky, the atmosphere around the Earth, and in that regard, Agent is totally fine. The difference between the ground and the sky is quite the same between the sky and low orbit, so there’s no gaping void in their chest.
It’s just— strange.

Summary
"Yes, well,” he says, and doesn’t continue. It doesn’t matter, he thinks to himself. Agents don’t usually have a survival rate of more than eight months, and this one will probably…expire before they even notice that the Handler can’t understand a word of what they’re saying. He may as well send them on their first case, prove their mettle or…the other thing.
(The Handler’s breath leaves him, for a second, before forcefully willing the tension from his body.)
He sends the record on its way.

“Now. While we’re being honest: What do you have in your mouth, Narrator?”
Narrator spun the wheel of options in his head, but impulse selected the most instinctual: he shoved the petals to the back of his mouth and swallowed them with an obvious, almost cartoonish gulp.
“I-” Narrator cleared his throat. “I don’t know what you mean, Curie?”
It wasn’t the most unimpressed Curator had looked, but it certainly made the top ranks.
-
Set in the Superthieves AU except hanahaki, that flower-coughing sickness, exists, and we answer once and for all if Narrator would indeed die before admitting he had a feeling.

Summary
“It’s a courtesy in this business, you know,” Narrator said, casually. “Typically people do it with a monologue, you know, 'we were hired by your enemies', or 'did you know how much your head’s going for on the market', that kind of thing, meant to make us worry about who’s closing in on us, or how well-funded they are, what else they’re willing to pull and so on.”
Confidence wavering ever-so-slightly, she asked: “Really?”
“No, he’s full of shit.” Stanley said before he could catch himself.
-
Business is going extremely well for the Special Acquisitions department, which is great for their egos but terrible for staying out of trouble. Curator practices trusting other people, difficult as it may be. Mariella has time to think about what kind of person she wants to become. Narrator presses on like nothing's changed - if he keeps going forward, he'll never have to face his past.Stanley realizes, too late, how little he really knows about Narrator.

Summary
When he was little, he’d read about a myth. He doesn’t entirely remember what it was, honestly, but what stuck with him was the simple premise; If you fold a thousand paper cranes, you get a wish. He’s never wanted a wish to come true so badly before.

Or; Reginald wasn’t always called “Reginald Crane” - he’d picked up the name along the way, and now finds himself returning to what had earned him the name in the first place.

Summary
Fully expecting them both to die in a botched attempt to infiltrate the Fabricator's workshop, Agent Phoenix reveals the strange circumstances of his apparent immortality to his Handler, Reginald Crane. Deeply concerned for his friend's sanity, Crane seeks the advice of Enhanced Operatives Division chief roboticist and Kinesium brain-implant designer Dr. Prism, and is told in no uncertain terms to have Phoenix committed for psychiatric help... but the EOD is keeping a dangerous secret: Phoenix isn't the only agent who has experienced cyclical deaths, and Prism's not the only one who knows about it.

Summary
"I think you’re missing what Curator wanted out of you. You managed to walk out of her museum with something you shouldn’t have, and I suspect hiring you was more about giving you motive not to do that again than anything else.”
Stanley considered this, and concluded: “You’re just mad she dragged you back to work, aren’t you?”
Narrator said, “Curator is paying us both very generously,” and that seemed to be addressed to himself as much as it was to Stanley.
-
If you have super powers, why not don a mask and cause some trouble?
Unfortunately, Stanley robbed the wrong museum, and now he's being put to work in the 'Special Acquisitions' department, stealing objects of great importance or power from private collectors and bringing them back to the safety and security of his new employer's museum.Narrator has been trying to quit this type of work for years now, and yet, here he is. He's here to support and train the reckless new agent, and good god he already needs a raise.
(Despite it all, Mariella is still here.)

THIS FIC IS SO GOOOOOD. The humour is absolutely platinum tier, the dynamic between Stan and Narrator is amazing, and, well, I won’t speak on the plot for the usual reasons, but Holy Fucking Shit
Ft. Lots of Curator, 432 breaks the fourth wall, cult sacrifices, coins, Ven the cat, and quite a lot of drowning! (Disclaimer: most of these things are largely disconnected, I’m pretty sure.)

Summary
Narrator starts counting the days sometime in late November, when the upcoming holiday appears on his radar regardless of whether he wants it there or not; he lets himself start worrying about it early on December fifth, long after decorations have started appearing in store isles and around town, and thus begins the yearly ordeal of selecting presents for everyone.
(Though perhaps saying everyone is a bit disingenuous, since there’s only one person he knows he’ll have trouble getting something for.)
Or, Narrator struggles to find the perfect Christmas present for his partner.

The Narrator is proud of how far his troupe has come. They've put on a number of very well-received performances, performances that have stuck with people, performances that have garnered enough praise to last a lifetime.
The Narrator has had no small part in this, being the troupe's director and writer, and he especially prides himself in knowing that people absolutely adore his troupe's work.
But when he finds out that his productions may not be all that he thinks they are, what is he supposed to do?

Summary
Vincent Carlisle, 56, is a successful and well-known author who by some untimely coincidence finds himself driving alone on a winding mountain road late one night. It's a decision made on a whim, and a bad one at that; he doesn't know the area at all, no one knows where he is, and he's had perhaps a bit more wine than is wise. It doesn't help that the weather is changing, and blizzards tend to come on without warning in these parts.
But what's the worst that could happen?
As it turns out, something much, much worse than just a simple accident, a car driven off the road and overturned in a growing snowdrift. Maybe, if Vincent were more fortunate, he might have died right then and there. But no, there's someone else out at this time of night; someone who notices, someone who's just in time to help. Someone who—upon discovering the unconscious and badly injured form of his very favourite author in the wrecked car—simply can't believe his luck.
After all, he's Vincent's number one fan.

Summary
One fact about Stanley: he has never known the touch of another person. It's natural, especially for someone who's been alone for thousands upon thousands of resets, trapped in an empty, barren office. So when he finally breaks out, maybe he could be excused for— ahem— sneaking some affection from the only other sentient being within touching distance.
Even if that person is supposed to be his worst enemy, and, well... not quite human.
Or: Five times Stanley touched the Narrator, and one time the Narrator did.
