Rhys, now proud CEO of ATLAS gets pulled into an investigation to find out what's causing major quakes on Pandora's moon Elpis. He enlists the help of his friends to figure this case out. While exploring Elpis Rhys runs into an odd experience at an old vault, gifting him with powers he never knew he had. While trying to deal with this and save the moon, an old "friend" of Rhys's shows his ugly head once again thanks to Rhys's little robot, Dumpy, bringing the AI remains along for the ride. One could easily tell Rhys that reinstalling the Handsome AI was a bad choice but he did it anyway with no other options left at his disposal. Although still annoyed with Rhys and his previous actions, Handsome Jack in his current ruined state with no control over Rhys at all now has no choice but to do what Rhys says, less he risk being disconnected for good, never to see the light of day again. And that's something Jack decided he wouldn't want to face. Although the moon is the last of their problems with Rhys displaying signs of a siren, accidentally giving Jack flesh, and almost everyone out to kill them, this story is only just beginning.

This would be bad enough, if he weren't also the first documented male siren and the Crimson Raiders' secret weapon against Handsome Jack and his army. Captured by the enemy and stranded in the one place he swore he'd never return, Rhys is sure he, and in turn, the Resistance, is done for.
But then again, when did anything in his life ever end the way he assumed it would?

Summary
Rhys is unexpectedly sent back in time after opening the Vault of The Traveler to pre-borderlands Helios when Angel is still a rambunctious seven year old and Jack has only been the CEO of Hyperion for a couple years. His job? Probably to fix the timeline. To prevent Jack's death, and hopefully Angel's too. At least, that's what he's going to try to do. What he doesn't know is that it was complete serendipity that he was sent to that specific time and location. Technically he should be dead. And hopefully he'll either get back, or fix everything, before the Eridians come to dispose of the anomaly in the space time continuum. ( Also Jack and Rhys have some sexy time and other plot complications. Bare with me. Is that the right bear? I don't care whatever. Just read my story. Or don't. I'm not a beggar.)

In a twist of the original events of TFTBL, both Vaughn and Rhys made it back to Helios with the girls. But shortly after Rhys made it to Jack's office, his obsessive hero worship was revealed, and the girls disappeared (along with the Gortys piece), leaving the guys to pick up where they left off.
Rhys was back to data mining. When Handsome Jack returned to power, he had naively expected more. After being more or less abandoned by Jack, Rhys wallowed in his misery at the bottom of the corporate ladder, until one day, a chance discovery earned him a promotion. But as he starts his first day at his new job, one thought lingers at the back of Rhys' mind.
