Summary
"Should we — should we tell Bobby?" Buck keeps his eyes straight ahead as he pushes their grocery cart through the produce section.
"Tell Bobby what?" Eddie asks distractedly as he darts off to grab the particular brand of cheddar that Chris likes, dumping it in the cart.
"About — you know. Our change in status. Or, maybe it goes straight to HR? I think we tell Bobby first, though."
Eddie puts his hand on the cart handle and stops it rolling. "Our change in status," he says slowly.
He reaches over and presses a fingertip to the spot where Buck's neck joins with his shoulder. He's touching Buck's St. Christopher medal necklace chain, Buck realizes, which is kind of a weird thing to do out of the blue, in the middle of the produce section, but then Eddie pulls back and turns away, starts searching through the avocados.
"I don't think we have to report anything to HR," he says in a completely normal and casual tone of voice. "It's not like we got married."
Buck is so happy to have Chris and Eddie back in his life, and so confused about what it all means.

Summary
“Come on, Eddie,” Buck groans, “You may hide it well, but I know you don’t like Tommy.”
Eddie wants to open his mouth and start telling Buck he is wrong. Wants to explain that Buck has it all twisted. But, Buck doesn’t have it wrong. He has it exactly spot on.
Eddie envies Tommy. He has Buck. He has him and keeps letting him down.
All Eddie can think about in these moments is how much better Eddie could treat Buck. How Eddie could protect him better, love him better, appreciate him better. And in the dark of his room, blanketed in the cover of night: how much better he could pleasure Buck.
That last one was a recent addition to the list of things Eddie was sure he could do better than Tommy. It was one of the handful of things he kept locked in the deepest, darkest parts of his soul, only to emerge in the heat of the moment before being shoved back down in shame.
At Eddie’s silence, Buck lets out a frustrated sigh that snaps Eddie back into focus and the present situation.
5 times Tommy doesn’t show up for Buck so Eddie does instead, +1 time that Eddie made it clear to Buck that he wanted to be by his side for the rest of their lives.

Summary
“Hey, Diaz? Take it from someone who’s been there — it’s not as scary as you think it’ll be.”
Eddie frowns. He glances at Buck, as if Buck has any idea what Tommy is talking about. “What’s not?”
“I like to think I’m uniquely positioned to say it’s worth it.”
Or, Buck is not in love with his best friend, and Eddie is super straight. For sure. Definitely.

Summary
“Do none of you care about the children? It’s a bachelor auction, and you, my friend, are a bachelor. Abracadabra, put your name on the list.”
“I can’t,” Eddie repeats. He can’t. He cannot. “I’m not.”
“You’re not? Since when?” Chimney frowns. “Who?”
It’s not Eddie’s fault that, at that exact moment, Buck walks in. So it’s not his fault that he opens his mouth and says, “Buck.”
Or, Eddie trips and falls into a lightly fraudulent HR-disclosed "consensual romantic relationship" with his best friend. Really, if you think about it, it's a win-win.
