Summary
Weathers hadn't always been in New Haven. Before settling in Connecticut, he wandered the west with his broodmate, feeding and fucking and killing as they liked. They'd been the worst sorts of Kindred their clan had to offer. Weathers wanted more. Delgado wanted... something else.
Weathers didn't know who Johnny's sire was when he took the kid under his wing; when he found out, he knew he had to make sure Johnny didn't repeat his same mistakes.
Then Delgado comes to New Haven—and wants something else from Weathers entirely.

Usually Ira had the good sense not to distract himself with this sort of pleasure on an assignment, but there was nothing wrong with looking, especially at a man who so obviously enjoyed the attention. He made a point of letting the Prince see him look now, as his gaze went from Miles' face to his hands again, as it lingered on his groin for a moment in an unspoken, but obvious offer. He didn't fail to notice how Miles almost preened, how his fingers twitched against Ira's jawline. Ira turned his head to kiss his fingertips, without ever breaking eye contact.
"So I don't get to touch, but I get to look?" he asked.

Miles hadn't expected to survive these final nights. But he had, and he'd stayed in New Haven with his coterie. So now he had to face Neil and everything they both couldn't forgive each other for. He had to face Johnny and the fact that he'd rejected Miles. He had to face the idea that Ira might become more to him than a casual distraction.
And as if all that hadn't been bad enough, the Setites had done something to him to make him frenzy at court. Now he felt everything Johnny felt, and Johnny felt everything he felt, and it was becoming a fucking problem.

"And which should I do with you?" Zorion asked and took Roland's chin in hand: a firm grip as if to scold a child. "Should I let you bolt or should I teach you better?"
Roland is intrigued that Zorion's shadows can restrain him, but when he seeks him out in private, they both get more than they bargained for.

The first and only time Miles ever propositioned him, Johnny was so dumbfounded that he barely knew how to react. He still said no, and Miles promised he wouldn't bring it up again. But over the following years, as Johnny gets to know Miles better, he realises that he might be a lot more interested than he once thought.
