The sound which leaves Hua Cheng’s lips this time isn't nearly feral, it /is/ feral, the fury of a wild beast confronted with a mortal foe. Before he can lift so much as a hand to stop him Hua Cheng jerks away from Xie Lian and lunges for Fang Xin, snatching it from the floor and raising it high above his head. To the ghost the next few moments are a blur. Somehow his god, what's left of him, was now resting on the charred floor (anything’s better than that altar right?).
Dark blood still sluggishly leaves his body, slower now but still there’s too much blood and entrails exposed for the ghost to feel comfortable wandering too far, despite the pull of his body trying to lead him astray.
