Summary
The first time Nero stumbled upon the abandoned statue of Sparda was by complete chance, yet he can’t help but feel drawn to it and finds himself coming back either to let out his frustrations or to just think things out.
However, after a particularly harsh meltdown, the statue turns from stone to flesh and Nero realizes just how true all the Order’s legends were as standing before him was the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda himself.

“Stupid.” Nero muttered to himself, banging a fist against the shower wall.
What did he think was going to happen? That Vergil would look up and say “Welcome back son. How was the job? How are you? Do you want to talk about how you have been, or anything about yourself?” Utterly ridiculous.
‘Why would he say anything to me? He wants nothing to do with me.’When Nero is seriously injured after a demon hunting job, it is up to Dante and Vergil to work together to save him. Dante has to help find a cure for his nephew, and deal with his emotionally constipated brother. Vergil, while trying to cure Nero, does his best to avoid talking about his feelings. Nero tries to figure out his place in his messed up family while dying.

“What do you want ?” Vergil spat, standing defensively in front of Nero.
“I think you already know. I want Nelo Angelo.” Mundus' lackey chuckled, taking a few steps closer. “ It can be that child, or it can be you, but I’m not sure how long that boy will last.”Vergil glanced back at Nero, he couldn’t leave him to suffer that fate. It was above his strength and that monster was aware of that. There was no real choice here and they both knew it. Another lifetime of torture and slavery until his demise for a chance at Nero’s salvation. A one way trip back into his worst nightmares.
“So ? Do we have a deal ?” The demon asked.
"Yes."

It's Mother's Day and Nero wants some answers about his biological mother. He goes to confront his father and it leaves their relationship in shambles.
But even after their violent dispute, Vergil is ready to do anything to save his son when Mundus comes after Nero.
