Summary
When Lan Huan enters seclusion, he's plagued by all the things he thinks he's done wrong. After meditating on it, he decides that what he really needs to fix himself is to become more like the Sect Leader of Yunmeng Jiang, Jiang Wanyin. He embarks on a journey to Lotus Pier to learn more about how to be like the strong, independent, and powerful Sandu Shengshou, but what he finds is closer to the man he sees in the mirror every day - and maybe that's okay.
A reverse take on seclusion letter fics, and inspired by the interview where Liu Haikuan (LXC's actor) is asked "do you think LXC lives up to his nickname of being sweet/naive" and he says "I feel that as a sect leader, Jiang Cheng is quite successful... [LXC] should learn from this type of sect leader" and Wang Zuocheng (JC's actor) looks at him like he's nuts lol.

Jiang Cheng still has his sister, and his new shixiong Wei Wuxian – but now he has his longma, too, and Ziyu is there with him at the Cloud Recesses, after Wei Wuxian is sent home and Jiang Cheng finishes his year alone; as Lotus Pier burns, with blood on the stones and Wen at the gates; on the battlefield, as an alliance of sects tries to shoot down the sun-
And in the aftermath, when all Jiang Cheng has left is a baby, a dizi, and his longma.

Jiang Cheng collapsed onto his couch at 3:00 in the morning, arm slung over his eyes, ignoring the sword still digging into his hip underneath him. Honestly, it was a miracle he’d bothered to kick his shoes off at the door to his apartment when he’d finally staggered through the door just a few moments ago, exhausted as he was. He’d slept with Sandu sticking into more painful places, and he just couldn’t bring himself to care.
But before he could fall asleep despite the discomfort of his sword in his side, he heard a new sound. An unusual sound, despite it being a relatively normal one.
The sound of a neighbor. When he’d left the apartment that morning (yesterday morning? whatever), he hadn’t had a neighbor.
