    Summary

Theo Nott proposes a terrible party game slash eating contest one Friday night at the Leaky Cauldron.

Hermione should and does know better than to accept the challenge, but when one piece of platinum blond wizardry flashes that infuriating smirk, there is very little she can do to resist.

As always, Draco Malfoy succeeds at getting under her skin, and the consequences of the game... they might turn out to be either mortifying or very interesting.

The reward for winning the contest? It's written on a folded napkin - waiting to reveal who's been far too infatuated for quite some time.

    Summary

Hermione Granger returns to Hogwarts not for healing, but to disappear.
Somewhere deep in the Restricted Section lies a spell powerful enough to erase her from the magical world entirely—memories, magic, even her name. Forgotten.

But when she’s placed in a restoration group with Draco Malfoy—who carries his own war-torn guilt—their paths intertwine in ways neither expected. He offers her a debt. She asks for help vanishing.

What begins as a secret pact slowly unravels into something else: shared silences, quiet closeness, a physical bond born of detachment—until feelings neither of them planned begin to form.

As her escape draws nearer, Draco faces a truth he never imagined.
Can he really let her go and help her disappear?

And when something unexpected binds her to the magical world again, Hermione is forced to ask herself:
Was vanishing ever truly what she wanted, or just what her trauma convinced her she deserved?

The first chapter is meant to set the tone for where the story is at right now. It may feel a little gloomy and more narrative-heavy, and that is intentional.

"I think about you," he said. "More than is appropriate."

The city continued its business around them, indifferent. She could hear a distant tram, a restaurant's spillage of laughter. The magnolia tree dropped a petal onto the stone between her knee and his.

    "For how long," she said.

"Longer than I've allowed myself to think about it clearly."

    Summary

Reasons why being in love with Draco Malfoy is wholly unacceptable:

    1. He is insufferable
    2. He is married
    3. He is her academic rival
    4. Now, unhappily, he is also her colleague, and they are meant to be collaborating
    5. Professional boundaries ought to be observed with colleagues
5b. Especially when her application for tenure is fully dependent on forging a successful academic collaboration with said colleague
    6. It is not compatible with her five-year plan (see items 1-5 for specifics)

Hermione has a deeply compelling list of reasons not to be in love with Draco Malfoy. To her dismay, when her department chair at St. Mungo's Medical School forces her into close proximity with Malfoy for the sake of undertaking an alchemy collaboration, she begins to develop romantic feelings she never meant to have.

Desperate to remedy this lamentable affliction, she invents a potion that can reverse the state of being in love. The only trouble is, she can’t seem to bring herself to take it.

Or: In which Hermione tries to force quit being in love.
