Mao Pang-yu licks his palm. Wu Ming-han shrieks, pulling his hand back as if he's been scalded.
"Ming-han?" his grandma calls again.
"I just burned myself on the hot water, ama," Wu Ming-han says through gritted teeth. Mao Pang-yu taps the tip of his nose primly: it's right there, right in front of him, and he can't really be blamed for taking the opportunity when it's so clearly in reach. Wu Ming-han's teeth snap over the space where Mao Pang-yu's finger had been just a second earlier. Mao Pang-yu waggles his finger at him (the very same one). Bad dog, he mouths, and starts to clamber out of the sink, making Wu Ming-han stagger back to avoid being headbutted — chin-butted? — by his ascent. With his voice gradually rising in both tension and volume, Wu Ming-han tacks on: "Don't worry."
Wu Ming-han and Mao Pang-yu wash the dishes.
