He was staring at her with a piercing gaze. Hermione didn’t want to play his game. If he was asking, there must have been something he wanted from her. “What would you like?”
He smirked, tapping his fingers on the armchair. The muscles on his forearm flexed, making the tattooed snake move.
“Maybe many things. Or maybe nothing. What’s your and Weasley’s favourite sex position?”
His expression didn’t change. He looked at her as if he’d asked her a normal question, about the weather or her favourite book.
“What?”
“Don’t pretend you didn’t hear me. In. What. Position. Does. Weasley. Usually. Fuck. You?”
“None of your business.”
“Yeah? And here I was, thinking you wanted my help…”
“If I answer you, will you help me?”
“Dunno.” He shrugged nonchalantly. “Maybe?”

“Get up!” she seethed, her gaze heated with rage.
Draco stared in shock at the witch in front of him. Gone was the homely, frizzled-haired girl with fugly clothing. In her place stood a woman dressed in black, her curls tied back to reveal the slashing scar across her face.
The scar he’d last seen as a deep gaping wound.
He swallowed back bile as he stared at the three red lines on her face. Beginning at the top of her forehead and ending just below her right ear, barely missing her eye. The healed result highlighted how bad the wound had been. At the time he had avoided looking at her bloodied face, casting his eyes down to the drawing-room floor instead. He hadn’t seen her at the battle and he hadn’t seen her since.
No one had.
Until now.

When Draco is forced to return to Hogwarts to finish his final year, he had not anticipated having to be placed in a private dorm for his own safety. And he certainly didn’t anticipate sharing a dorm with Hermione Granger, the one person who had more reason than any other to wish him dead.
