When your world flips upside down, you find yourself stuck between a rock and a hard place: a seemingly never-ending army of zombies and an ambitious group of survivors, one of which doesn't trust you at all and looks like he'll kill you in your sleep.

Youngjae glares. “What?”
“Seems like you’ve been bottling things up for a long time…” Junghwan mutters. “I don’t know what happened, but… I don’t know. Maybe it’s not too late. If there’s things you never got to say.”
“Idiot,” Youngjae says, the word slipping out with a chuckle before he can really think about it. Luckily, all he hears from Junghwan is a scoff. His hand never leaves his shoulder. After a sniffle, Youngjae says, “Sorry. I just… I promised not to.”
It’s not exactly true. Youngjae can’t promise not to do something that was already impossible to begin with.

The look he receives is bashful. Toge averts his gaze, picking up one of the sweet potato fries and taking a bite out of it. “Yeah, maybe, I couldn’t let my captain crumble, right?”
The way he says it-- ‘my captain,’ makes Yuuta fluster on the spot. He smiles a little nervously, ducking his head and offering up a shy smile. “Ah,” he stutters out, not really sure how to reply. “Thank you, um,” he trails off again, trying to figure out what to say. “I appreciate it.”

“I’m scared to answer this. It’s a test, right?”
Toge smiles a bit, bending over the back of the arm chair to place a kiss to his cheekbone. “Be ready in twenty, we’re going out.”
Five times Toge and Yuuta celebrate, and the one time they grieve.

Turning to exit, he freezes as he sees Yuuta Okkotsu waiting for him by the entrance. His second place medal is held tightly in his grasp, dark blue eyes almost gray, swirling with something Toge can only pinpoint as rage.
“You won’t win next time,” he says simply, staring at his bow rather than making eye contact.
Toge simply raises an eyebrow.
Then he laughs.
“Good luck,” he coos, stepping right past him. He goes as far as to pat his shoulder, giving him another smirk. “It was a valiant effort, really.”
Inumaki and Okkotsu have been rivals in the kyudo world for as long as they can remember. Inumaki starts to struggle when their relationship begins to shift.
