As she was lumbered into the back of the gothic, if not ostentatious, carriage, Hermione felt another lurch in her abdomen. Excitement, she pathetically reasoned. Of course, it had absolutely nothing to do with attending the ball of the opulent nobleman actively seeking a wife, disguised as the daughter of one of the most well-to-do families in society, with little to no real-life practice of the genteel and pedantic rules of society. That was simply a small feat.
