“How old am I?” Dick rephrases the question. Realistically, given the lines on Bruce's face and the grey in his hair, he has to be more than a decade or two in the future. But, well, Dick's still reeling from being twelve. He can't begin to imagine a world where there's anything past tomorrow.
Bruce's smirk sinks a little, but not quite to a frown. It's a distant smile, fighting through the shadows of whatever it is Bruce sees when he looks down at him. In a quiet, mournful tone, he says, “Not that old. Not old at all.”

ohh my god this fic GETS IT. i teared up towards the end like hella i cant lie but this is exactly how i like tims character to be explored and op u just nailed it on the head. tim retiring as robin as a concept isnt because he's outgrown the mantle, no matter what most people will say. its about how his reasons for being a hero have changed!
also love tim going back to college!! bring back the tim who balances his civillian and masked life!!!
also also ALSO love that you acknowledged tim being ceo and mostly relying on lucius. ppl always either think he was just rawdogging that responsibility on his own OR that he was never ceo or in charge at all, even if bruce explicitly labelled him as the inheritor of WE in his will?? so to a certain extent bruce probably did in fact think tim was capable of running WE?? we mostly saw him just running neon knights and doing rr stuff, but i still assume he did in fact do at least SOME ceo stuff.
