Summary
Overall, going into training to become a carpenter has been a good move for Faulkner. For one thing, he could move out of his dad’s house to a new town where he didn’t know anybody, and that made it a lot easier to transition socially. It’s a trade that involves precision, and he’s good at that, and it pays well enough that he can meet his basic needs and still be able to afford hormones and counseling for his OCD, no sweat. The only problem is his boss. They’re having some compatibility issues.

An Eridian mining crew find a human welded into a stranded ship on the surface of a moon. They bring him back to Erid, to the only other human they know.
Something in Grace's chest flickered into life. He had buried it so long ago that he hardly knew what it was anymore, and so he took off his glasses and cleaned them on the edge of his cardigan, as if Rocky's words were a smudge he could clear away before finding the will to hope.
“Ah…” his words failed halfway out of his mouth. Rocky chittered at him, a little sound of encouragement. “There’s another human? Here. And… alive?”
