So the thing is that Jon works with Daisy but they’re not friends. Jon is friends with Melanie, who’s friends with Basira, who’s friends with Daisy. And Georgie – Georgie is Georgie. But Daisy he knows through two degrees of separation, or whatever the maths comes out to, there. She’s the person with a desk on the other side of the office, with the German shepherd shaped blob of a stress toy on her desk that she squeezes and stretches into much less dog-like shapes as she works her Excel sheets. She’s the person that tags along sometimes when Melanie invites friends over when Jon’s at their place. She’s the person that Basira brings with her more often than not.

He analyzes his scarred skin, the dried blood that paints his cheek and neck, and the way his eyes glisten, specks of white splattered in the corners of his pupils. “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been right now.”
Everything clicks for Logan at that moment. Without words, without another thought.
“Yeah?” he asks. Wade nods.

My outlines are casual but fairly detailed; they make for a different reading experience than finished prose, of course, but not an unenjoyable one in my opinion. They successfully finish telling the story I set out to tell, so I consider this fic complete.]

His lips quivered and his eyebrow twitched, and finally he looked away from Kabru, bashful and anxious. “...No,” he whispered finally. Hm. He didn't sound hesitant.
