Summary
For the rest of her shift, Trinity turned those words over in her mind. The way Garcia’s voice held her name, direct and unprecious. Like she was important, like she was crucial. That voice, those words, glued her feet to the spot where she stood, and it was a labor to get them to move throughout the rest of her shift. She worked on a food poisoning case, dislocations of both the shoulder and elbow, and a head contusion. All she thought about all day was Garcia.
At the end of the day, she was packing up her bag, waiting for Whitaker to wrap up his debriefing with Dr. Robby, when she heard the voice that had been haunting her for the past twelve hours.
“Santos.”
She would follow her anywhere, as long as she was welcome to.

Summary
Galinda needs to be more passionate about things that matter. For example, one of Elphaba’s eyelashes falling onto her cheekbone does not matter. Elphaba hasn’t even noticed it, so Galinda shouldn’t care. She looks down at her empty notebook. Picks up a pen.
She really does care about that eyelash, though, she needs to swipe it off of Elphaba’s face and set it on the desk, or put it in her pocket or her mouth or something. Maybe smell it. Galinda wonders if Elphaba’s eyelashes smell like the rest of her, like old books and intrigue.
Elphaba turns to look at Galinda, and oh, shit.

Constance. God, she misses Constance.
Her cheeks heat up thinking about the other girl, just like they always used to. She remembers high school, slipping her rough, pencil-calloused hands into the soft, saccharine, safe-havens that were Constance’s. It always made her blush, for some reason. Probably the sensitive nerve endings in her fingers. She was always cold and Constance was warm. Yeah, that was it.
They haven’t spoken in years, three to be exact. And even before that, it was stilted bi-yearly updates at most. They haven’t been innocent high-school blushy besties for a while. Ocean’s hoping to change that this time around. It has nothing to do with the fact that she’s really lonely in her small-ass apartment, or that she’s failing at living up to the title of “most successful girl in town,”or the fact that she’s been searching for a friend to make her feel like Constance did, and she can’t. Nobody has ever lived up to Constance.
Whatever. She’s excited.
Ocean and Constance are trapped in the same city during the holidays and forced to reconcile with each other after years of not speaking.

As Robby lifts his shirt up, Dennis is overcome with the need to bury his face in his armpit until he passes out. The gold chain with its Star of David that he always wears rests just below his collar. As Robby strips off, Dennis allows himself a longing look.
Yeah, Dennis admits to himself, he’s down pretty bad.
He’s certain that the fishing trips his brothers took with their dad didn’t have this additional complication – that of the man taking them being so hot they’d want to cry. Trinity’s comment, ‘daddy wants to take you to the woodshed,’ bounces around in Dennis’s head.
