Zandik finds himself lost for the first time since his expulsion from the Akademiya, trapped in his own broken body. It isn't until an odd young woman nurses him back to health when he realizes he's been sent to the past. Being the scholar that he is, he struggles against his recovery at first, unable to research or dissect his savior. Her kindness begins to stir something within him, a desire he'd forgone for so long he couldn't even recognize it at first. Is this... what the love of a mother is like?
Once Zandik fully recovers and can take care of any impediments to his newest experiment, he knows he'll have to do something a bit contentious. It's been such a long time since he's had a subject to cherish, especially one so unassuming. He has no doubt she'll understand eventually. After all, what's a little discomfort between family?
DISCLAIMER: Damn, I quit Genshin almost 4 years ago, and this dude is still fkin fugly. I am writing this fic as a Dottore-hater-since-day-1 for my Dottore-lover-since-day-1 friend, because that's what friendship is all about (coping with her bad taste in men). Summary

The Tsaritsa adorned her palace halls with paint and canvas, a collection built up over centuries, images personally commissioned from her favorite artists each era.
The hall to the throne featured only the absolute best, and she had decided it was time to feature a new collection. A complete set of portraits in the likeness of her Fatui Harbingers. That was the task put upon the newest in line of the crown’s artists.
Meeting her majesty’s standards was easy enough, at least when compared to wrangling the leaders of The Fatui into sitting down to paint. Especially when some are far less cooperative than others. And certain doctors are terrible at staying seated… Thankfully, the artist has always enjoyed pretty subjects, even if they're quite finicky. -
