Whatever carefully blank expression Lestat is trying on disappears like a slap. “Armand made a fledgling. Why would he do that?” Lestat asks.
“Oh, you know,” Louis says, watching the three dots of a new text pop up. “He knew Daniel was… important to me.”
He means to say it with rueful annoyance, as if to say, “so he ruined him.” But as Daniel’s text comes in—the most important question I should have asked you in that fucking interview: where do you buy coke in Dubai?—Louis’s voice trails off, his words maybe lacking some of the bite.

Summary
After the discovery of Armand's manipulation and deception, Louis finds Lestat, does some proper groveling and wins back the actual 'love of his life'. They experience life and love in a new century together, determined to do better this time around for both themselves and each other. Shockingly though, the best of intentions don't erase over a century of unresolved guilt and trauma. And so, we follow our favorite vampires to an isolated retreat accompanied by their lovely, patient therapist. She's, like, really patient. Still, despite Loustat's legitimate attempt at self care, the treatment plan goes out the window when a family of mysterious vampires show up, seeking help, unaware of their shocking connection to Lestat. Then Akasha shows up. Expect cliffhangers, cults, mercenaries, plot twists, kidnappings, tearful confessions, violent confrontations (not Loustat) smut (yes Loustat) and ... Armand, being Armand.

“There might be some trouble in paradise,” Louis admitted now to Daniel who was kind enough not to gloat about it aloud. Not that it made much difference with their telepathic connection. The sentiment came through loud and clear regardless.
“Did he cheat on your again?” Daniel asked, not mincing his words. Louis shook his head. “Made you kill someone?” Another shake of the head. “He sucks in the sack and not in the fun way?” Whatever expression passed over Louis’ face was enough for Daniel to figure it out all at once. “Ah. There is it.” He shook his head and murmured to himself, “It always starts in the bedroom.”
