Kiyoomi swallows and knits his eyebrows in confusion. “But--”
“I’m here,” Atsumu grits, “because I didn’t want to end up with some simpering baboon who needed attention or affection or love. I told ya on day one, Omi, day one, that I wasn’t looking for a relationship. And ya agreed. I never wanted a marriage, I just want to be left alone.” Atsumu pauses to take a breath.

God, it has really been so long, long enough that Kiyoomi could pick that ridiculous nose out of a lineup of faces blindly, would know him by touch handless, could pick out his voice deaf, only fingers pressed to a vibrating throat. Long enough that he could believe someone would clutch him close and kiss his clothed shoulder for no reason other than to touch; to say, Here, I have been here. And here and here. I have graphed you. Because I love you, and you will change.
“Wow,” Kiyoomi muses, sliding Atsumu’s calculations closer. “Two times twenty-five is forty? Since when?”
“Shut up,” Atsumu groans, rocking them back and forth like a sugar-high child. “Shut up, shut up.”
(Or, exactly how love leaves you a puddle on this carpet-less floor because you’d rolled it up to dance.)
