"Oh my God," Mel breathes, turning to look at Frank. "That's a baby."
A weird, blob-like shape resembling a baby that will be a baby, at least. Their baby.
"Wow," he says from where he stands at her shoulder, but his voice is thick, and she looks up to find his eyes wet, glistening against the light from the screen. "Holy shit, Mel, that's our baby."
Mel grapples with her impending motherhood amidst caring for her sister, a fellowship program, and missing her own mom. Frank is the support she needs.

They had a gun, now pointed in his direction. Another loud blast ricocheted through the awning.
Fuck.
He had to get out of there.
He spun on his heel and immediately ran like he had never run before. His heart felt like it was in his throat. His mind simultaneously moving at the speed of sound and not forming any coherent thoughts at all.

“Walk me through what you’re thinking.”
Dr. Langdon’s voice came from behind her. Before she had the chance to turn, he stepped closer, leaning over her shoulder to look down at the screen.
It happened so fast. The warmth of him at her back. The clean scent of soap mixed with coffee and something else she couldn’t place. His hand reached around her to point at something on the screen and for half a second, his arm brushing against hers and she became acutely aware of the little space remaining between their bodies.
Her pulse stuttered. Any explanation she had died in her throat, instead only a quiet, choked noise came out. She was effectively frozen, completely against her control.
