Summary
"A-Cheng," he whispers, forehead touching Jiang Cheng's own. His fingers — now deathly pale, so unlike the sunkissed boy of before — are warm against Jiang Cheng's cheek. "I've missed you too."
"Don't get caught again," Jiang Cheng says, because he can't trust himself to say anything else without screaming or crying.
"I won't. We are the twin heroes of Yunmeng, remember?" His thumb presses down on Jiang Cheng's bottom lip, insistent and blood smeared. Jiang Cheng opens up with practiced ease, eagerly waiting, but still he shudders at the first metallic taste of blood. "I'll be by your side, always."
After the war, Jiang Cheng sticks his hands into blood-drenched soil and tries to rebuild his sect from ruin. It would be easier if he didn't have to watch his brother be consumed by the heavy price of his own unfathomable powers.

Wei Wuxian approaches and swings a lazy arm around Jiang Cheng's shoulders, his smile easy and dark. Jiang Cheng's stomach lurches. Wei Wuxian's unkempt hair sprawls down his back and over his arms, bangs falling over his eyes just so.
Jiang Cheng glances at his martial brother, shakes off the chill, and licks his lips. This would be fun.
