“Especially if you guys work together,” Shotaro nods. “Right?”
Eunseok chances a look at Wonbin, and he’s already staring back at him, chin propped on his folded hands as his elbows rest on the table. Looking unfairly, stupidly beautiful as always, wide eyes searching for something in Eunseok that Eunseok himself isn’t quite sure is even there. Eunseok swallows.
“Right,” he says. “Together.”

“It could take months for them to find this artefact…” he starts, trailing off, staring at him.
“Then I’ll be here to keep you entertained,” Sungchan says, patting Shotaro’s knee softly and standing up. “Will you have some soup?”

Yangyang squints. Puts the sword down. Squints harder when Xiaojun beams, his tone instantly flipping to something jarringly chirpy. “Wow, that was a scare, huh? We haven’t had a dragon in a while. Usually they introduce you to one of the villains, but maybe they needed to let you off easy. Early game aggression tutorial—I guess it’s gotten kind of adaptive? You know how it is.”
“I do not know how it is,” Yangyang replies, still wheezing, still very much not recovered from the dragon or the spandex or the fact that the room smells like when he first tried to work a grill.
“Well,” continues Xiaojun brightly, sweeping perfectly shiny bangs out of his perfectly shaped eyes, “that means you’ll get to find out. Let’s grab a coffee and catch up, My Best Friend.”
Yangyang gets trapped in a video game with only a strange guide named Xiaojun as help. It goes really smoothly, obviously.

The stall vendor sees right through him as soon as he begins to stammer through the words une pain d'épices s’il vous plait, asking him what he wants in thick English instead, which Mark bashfully responds to for both their sakes. As it turns out, Renjun was close enough to have heard the whole thing, laughing at him when Mark arrives back with the little paper bag containing three slices of ginger loaf. He thanks him anyway, and Mark thinks he looks very beautiful, all bright eyes and warm light bouncing from his face, tiny snowflakes caught in the wisps of his hair.
“Pretty,” Mark says quietly, cupping Renjun’s face with one gentle hand so that he’ll tilt his chin Mark’s way again, smile at him and fill his chest with warmth in all the places the mulled wine couldn’t reach. “I love you so much.”

Christmas in France with Renjun starts out a dream, but turns into a recurring nightmare when Mark meets a ghost from his boyfriend's past.

Renjun doesn’t need to know what Jaemin’s brother does for a living to love Jaemin, and he doesn’t need to get involved in family politics when covens are notorious for holding grudges. It doesn’t bother him if Jaemin wants to leave his past behind—he loves Jaemin for who he is now. Jeno, who has a weaker grasp on magical affairs as it is, can be curious, but never pushes. They don’t need to know.
But it would be nice to get a heads up when it comes to old enemies, things that can still threaten Jaemin now. And by threatening Jaemin, threaten all three of them by association.

It had been Renjun’s idea, to take a break from Seoul. A weekend getaway during the small window of time their company gave them off post-holidays, right before they were thrown back into commitments and comebacks and all the trappings that came with idol life.
“It’ll be nice to get out,” Renjun had said. They were at Haidilao, splitting a steamboat between the two of them. “Drive around, get some fresh air.”
Yangyang snorted. “You sound like Kun-ge,” he complained, but it wasn’t a no, and Renjun just smiled at him through the steam rising up between them.

I missed you, Kun had said, even when they were an arm’s length apart. That part, Ten thinks, is true. And suddenly, and even though he’d been thinking about its impossibility, about its ridiculousness, all Ten can think is I missed you, too.
Maybe Kun senses it. Maybe he doesn’t. Either way, Kun looks at him for as long as he dares to keep his eyes off the road, and Ten sees an expression he doesn't recognise cross his face before Kun turns away, eyes fixed firmly ahead.
“Yeah,” Kun says. “Yeah, you are.”

Summary
Dejun’s eyes glimmer, and Kun thinks of stars spread out across a midnight sky. Dejun’s fingers graze his collarbone as he drops his hand, and Kun thinks of meteors splintering as they pass through the atmosphere, fracturing, disintegrating into dust. He feels like that sometimes, caught between his desire and his sense of propriety. Dejun is so beautiful, so unbelievably talented, so full of love that he brims with it, that it spills over his edges. These past few months have been hell, and when it seems like every other member is pulling away, it’s Dejun who stays; it’s Dejun who grounds Kun, who brings him back down to earth. Or maybe it’s the other way around, and maybe Kun has been caught up in Dejun’s orbit all along.
