Summary
1987 went to shit. Vecna brought on what may well be the apocalypse, and Steve fought it to the end. Literally.
Death was supposed to be a one-way street. But knowing a girl with super powers had a tendency to change the game. So when Steve opens his eyes to a beer-soaked bathroom on Halloween in 1984, Nancy calling him 'bullshit' all over again, the universe might forgive Steve for thinking he was either a) in Hell or b) going cracked. But Steve didn't have time to freakout. Not when El finds him and asks that he help her change the events of the future. Not when he's the only other person she managed to drag with her for chance number two.
OR: A time travel fix-it, where 1987 Steve is dropped back into his 1984 self. And now he has to deal with that plus the impending apocalypse on the horizon. But he'll be fine, right? Because, as El informs whoever asks, Steve's 'The Babysitter'. So he gets to work. He can cry later, when he's done.

Summary
Ammit is defeated. Khonshu is gone. So what now? Marc isn’t quite sure what to do with himself. He knows he wants to repair his marriage with Layla so they pick a new apartment and move in together. But Steven is the one with the vision, the one who wants a normal life. A normal job, financial stability, dates with a beautiful woman that Marc grudgingly allows him to go on with his wife. He dreams of a white picket fence and two children playing in the garden and all Marc can do is gag because that is not him. That is not what he wants, deserves or can be trusted with, not after all he did during his long, violent career.
Then one day while sorting through all of Marc’s multiple fake identities he uses to launder his illegally earned money, Steven stumbles over a series of monthly withdrawals going back years. Who is this Jake Lockley that is listed as an employee in one of Marc’s sham companies? And who is Julienne Sanchez, that he gives all his salary to? Dissociative Identity Disorder. Those three words stared at him from the page, almost angry and writhing. Almost like they were something to be afraid of. He’d read the passage about five times, now, and yeah, it was wordy as hell, but… Fuck, it made sense.
And he wasn’t sure that he liked it.
It meant that the Winter Soldier was still in there. Maybe not in the same way, but it still… felt like the Soldier. In some way. That was what scared him.
