Summary
After they both died in flames, one by a balrog and one in a fiery chasm, Glorfindel and Maedhros are reborn and return to Arda for the same purpose: to help Elrond as he rules Imladris.
The great grandson of Glorfindel's former king and the foster son of Maedhros, Elrond is perhaps the only one able to unite these old enemies. And when Maedhros and Glorfindel discover that Celebrimbor's nearby kingdom of Eriador is under a shadow and posing a threat to Imladris, they have far more to worry about than their old grievances.
(In short, I wanted to write a story that involved two of my favorite Silmarillion characters: Maedhros and Glorfindel. In canon, they hardly ever interact, so I thought this would be fun!)
