Like he doesn’t need permission. It shouldn’t get Frank hotter, but it does. “Besides,” he adds while Frank is distracted, bending in close. His breath is hot against the curve of Frank’s ear. “Thought that you might like it.”

If it wasn’t so deathly quiet, Frank wouldn’t be able to hear him at all. Heat settles in the pit of his stomach, a sickening hybrid of fear and something else entirely.
