Maybe today was about not being alone. He wouldn't pry, but he could give him what he clearly needed: an ear to listen, a word to comfort, and hand guide him, at least for a little while.

what what what hahahhahaha. the beginning was heavy (an understatement!!) depressing, and fitting to the series. middle, was good u molded out annie/peeta's relationship and finn/kat's.
the ending however was weak and disappointing— sorry not sorry— i think they should have stopped being selfish and toxic with one another and move on.
finn and kat deserved a healthy and steadfast love (like theirs towards p and a) and sadly they didn't get that. what u did however was justify and abused f and k's "understanding" towards the other two, which is toxic!!!! it could've been save if all of the possible pairs sat and talk with each other, to clear up or for some closure. that would have tied up together with ur ending.
this made me feel grief and actually made me hate peeta and annie😭 never rereading this for my own sanity. keep writing tho :))) u have a talent

everdair coping and dealing with their traumas and grief so differently (katniss by holding onto them and finnick by burying and avoiding them) while trying to hold and be there for each other!!!
so sweet, slow, warm, and hopeful as all things should be. slow like how they danced and recover. warm like the sand and dirt beneath their feet. sweet like how jo/finn's platonic intimacy and katniss/haymitch morning routine. hopeful like the ending of the remaining victors. (haymitch having the kids as his anchor, jo's steady recovery 😭, finnick's decision to finally open up and face his own grief and hurt!!! and katniss openly care and love for another person!!!!!!!)
also showed the guilt of the pair to love again perfectly, had me sniffing and sht : ((
loved how it emphasized no matter how we cope, it doesn't really make our grief and traumas less significant. at the end of the day, i love healing fics abt characs who deserves better!! <33

wrecked me in ways i can't even explain.
the grief, the denial, the pining, the yearning, the loss, and the things left unsaid and unravel.
the what could have been, what if's, the life they could have lived.
i will forever mourn for things they couldn't have when Draco died.
mourn for the idea that we will never know how long Draco loved Harry before everything happened.
mourn for his plan to ask Harry to marry him but never had the chance to.
mourn for how lost and empty Harry is and how human his reactions are.
mourn for Harry's regrets. like the last time he said "i love u" was 3 days before he lost him.
mourn because they will never have the talk they promised for later.
mourn because Harry will never know what those trinkets in his box meant for Draco.
i grieved with Harry, seven years is enough but also not enough. it was unbearable for him, holding onto Draco while everyone tells him that he should have some progress in a year is devasting.
but i still wanted him hold on to Draco for as long he lived. his favorite sweatshirt, his mugs, the warehouse, teas.
unhealthy and destructive i know, but it's all the things that he has left of Draco.
the ending is the right thing to do, it was bittersweet just like how Harry and Draco's relationship at first.
i know any relationship he will have after that, he'd subconsciously compare them to Draco in some type of way.
overall, don't read this fic if u don't want to ruin ur week. because it definitely ruined mine :))
one of the best i have read, one of the most devastating too :3
