Summary
Courfeyrac is badly injured during the barricades of 1830, and it shakes Enjolras to the core, a rare moment of anxiety and darkness entering his soul. Ever the leader he tries to hide his fear, not wanting to concern his friends after three days of fighting in the streets. Jehan, ever perceptive, comforts him and gives the light Enjolras embodies back to him, reminding him of the immortality of the cause they fight for.

"Yes, but what happened?" Joly asked, frowning. "Did you kill someone?"
"Did someone catch you walking about with a mismatched coat and cravat?" Bossuet wanted to know.
"Have you caught a disfiguring disease?"
"Did you receive a compliment from Blondeau?"

"...If this student is an ally of ours, we may gain yet another contact, as well as further support when the time arises... If not, I would very much like to know how I was singled out. What else does this man know? If our Society has given information to the wrong people, it’s best to rectify the situation swiftly.”
After a troubling incident at the law school, Enjolras sends Bahorel out to gather information. Bahorel, along with Prouvaire and Combeferre, embark on what is most likely a typical night for him.

The poet’s eyes fluttered shut, blood-clumped lashes causing soft shadows to fall against his cheeks. He took a small fortifying breath and raised his head high, eyes opening to flash tarnished silver at his captors.
“Vive la France! Vive l’Avenir!”
The first man lifted his gun.
And pointed it right at Jean Prouvaire’s heart.
“Do something,” the blonde leader heard one of his lieutenants plead in a thick voice.

"...all were killed"
A canon-compliant, canon era filling-in of the blanks.
"As he proclaimed this final declamation louder than any he had roared before it, one arm raised in the air, a first musket-shot pierced him in the shoulder; a second tore through his heart immediately after, killing him instantly: his chest folding over, his upper body was flung dramatically over the balcony, mirroring the sunken head of the man at the window opposite him."

Summary
Feuilly moves to a new city to start over. He plans to keep his head down this time, to work an 8 to 5 job and keep to himself and settle for getting by. His hopes are modest, reasonable: He hopes to keep up on his loan payments, to get along with his coworkers, to get through another Christmas alone.
He doesn't plan on getting sucked into a group of literacy activists who care way too much, on getting involved in trying to fix the world again, on stumbling into people who actually seem to care about him. He doesn't plan on being happy.

Enjolras presses his lips together. He already looks pained, and Grantaire hasn't even opened his mouth yet. That's got to be a record, even for them.
"I need a favor," he says at last.
"With what?" says Grantaire. "Ooh, are you forming a cult? Can I join? I'd be awesome at cults, I just know it." He ticks off his qualifications on his fingers. "I love chanting, I look great in robes—"
(High school AU. Grantaire the disaffected stoner is pulled into a cause bigger than himself. Or: in which there are pretend boyfriends for great justice.)

A slight expansion on my tumblr post
"a reincarnation AU where Enjolras has eight birth marks across his chest. Grantaire only has one, right over his heart"
Bahorel remembered first.
In the harsh light of the summer morning, Bahorel ran his fingers across the birthmark thoughtfully. It had never really occurred to him before, but it was the perfect echo of a bayonet wound. The barricade boys start to remember their past and are drawn together once more.

Perhaps somewhere in between all the cups of coffee, shots of tequila, sunny March days, terrible lumpy jumpers, love, cigarettes, drunken nights and the desire to change the world they'll all leave Paris with a degree in something. Or not. Grantaire's money is on no. But he's a pessimist who's hopelessly in love, so perhaps his opinion shouldn't count.

Summary
The Café Musain isn’t open all night, but it’s hours are pretty damn close and it’s the late-night hours of the Musain that Courfeyrac loves the most. It is in these late-night hours that he and Bossuet have argued over the finer points of Irish coffee, that Bahorel once got in that fist fight with that homophobic douche and wiped the floor with him, that Combeferre and Joly would try to explain to Enjolras why his body still needed sleep and food (despite his insistence that it didn’t). In the late-night hours, Musichetta invited Bossuet home with her and Joly for the first time and Feuilly allowed Courfeyrac to play his wingman as they flirted with the freshman and sophomore girls who came in for late night snacks.
And for the last month, the late-night hours are when Courfeyrac is most likely to see Flower Boy.

Summary
After a while the three of them are covered in a thin layer of sweat, despite the cold Parisian weather outside. The rain seems to have stopped and a few stray sunrays are peeking under the clouds, reflecting on the wet trees and the sea of rooftops out of the window. Combeferre inspects their work with a reserved smile, the living room still looking bombarded, covered furniture and the oddest unpacked things, boxes and wrapping paper everywhere yet his books already perfectly organized on the bookcase. “It’s a very nice place,” Enjolras hears himself muttering, walking around the other few rooms of their apartment. "The only thing that's left now is to hope our neighbours are decent."
Really, he thinks after what seems like ages, lying on his bed and holding his breath in order not to miss another, just a few inches of cement and a pocketful of hurt pride away, he should have known when Courfeyrac turned around and flashed him a mischievous smile. "Let's hope they're not."

Summary
It was Aristophanes who said it first, between his hiccups. The original human nature was very different to the present. Every person had a huge head with two faces, two pairs of arms and two pairs of legs. It was Zeus' wrath that parted them in half with his thunders, only to leave those lonely, two-legged creatures to wander around for eternity, until they could find the other half that they needed to ever be at peace.
His knuckles are dried and almost bleeding from the piercing cold and it makes it harder for him to do his job, not that many people care to have their portraits or caricatures drawn that time of the year. Believing you’ll get rich as one of all the antagonistic streets artist in the crowded Place du Tertre of Montmartre during the winter, is like expecting to save the world as a member of a merry little band of activist college students.
Grantaire doesn’t fall under that category of people. For one thing he’s not naïve, he’s not the activist, he’s the cause, he’s the homeless guy all the idealists want to save and let him tell you what, he doesn't want to be saved.

When a liaison with another rebel cell goes wrong, Courfeyrac and Feuilly end up wet, cold, and sporting mild injuries. That's all right, though. They've got each other, a fireplace, and a blanket, and that's really all they need.
