Dan Heng resists the urge to hug himself, instead keeping his arms firmly planted by his sides. He already feels a bit bare without the extra armor and accessories that usually adorn his person when he takes on the form of Permansor Terrae; something about donning this form outside of battle leaves him feeling a bit vulnerable. Although he is fully clothed in a high-neck black t-shirt and slacks, the way Blade’s golden eyes rake across his body makes him feel as if he is sitting on the mattress without anything on.

It was not a command, but a plea, and Phainon fell silent. Mydei lifted their joined hands, pressing his lips against the back of Phainon’s knuckles slowly, reverently, like prayer, like worship. His eyes never left Phainon’s face, memorizing every line, every shadow, every beloved detail as though carving it into his soul.
Between each word, he kissed Phainon’s knuckles again and again, desperate to convey what fate denied them—that he wanted this devotion in their lifetime too, but prophecy had already stolen that chance. “When death finally takes me away from you,” he repeated softly, lips brushing skin, “I will hold you with my other hand… and promise to find you in that new tomorrow you will deliver us to.”

"Um." Dan Heng's words trailed off as he looked in the hotel room, silence echoing like a loud judge.
Beside him, Blade stood, a deadpan expression on his face as he pulled the door open and faced the same view Dan Heng did. "Is that what that lady at the reception meant by 'special room'."
Before them was a vast expanse of beds. Like, quite possibly around ten beds. Dan Heng quickly counted "1,2,3...,9,10". Exactly ten. He didn't even know it was possible for a single room to have that many beds. What on Akivili was even happening.
There was only one bed!
...Wait. What do you mean?
There was... too many beds?

Summary
After the conclusion of the Phantasmoon Games, Dan Heng stays behind at Inkford Hermitage to recover. A surge of aberrant Wishpower at the hot springs results in an anomaly, and Dan Heng wakes to find himself face to face with the manifestation of his past, Dan Feng.
With illegal imagenae Dan Feng hanging over his shoulders in the form of a small dragon, Dan Heng runs into the absolute last person he wants to meet in the baths.
Blade stares, his gaze fixed on the miniature Azure Dragon who is, unfortunately, very recognizable.
“This is, um,” Dan Heng fumbles for an explanation. “It’s a—an imagenae that stuck to me.”
Blade’s eyes move briefly to Dan Heng, then back to the dragon for a long unblinking moment. Then, with a distinct feeling of ‘I don’t want to know’, he closes his eyes, shutting out the sight of the two of them.
