The turtles glanced at each other.
“We don't know,” Raph said. It was the simplest and most truthful answer he could give.OR

I got this idea from seeing some of the art made by @_julia_cheesecake_ on instagram and their awesome au and started taking with my lovely friend Lavender and now i have this :]
This will be an ongoing work and i know i dont have the best track record with those *looks at the Marcy fic* but the brainrot is pretty intense with these silly turtles so we've got a half decent shot at this getting finished.

It's hard to ignore when your family is constantly worried. It's even harder to ignore when the said reason is your other half.
This whole thing goes poorly as the time passes for him to cope and he knows.
He swears he does.
Or: Donnie pretending the invasion didn't happen and neither did Leo. It goes as well as you expect. Perhaps not well at all.

Donatello screws up an experiment and becomes human with no memory of his life as a turtle. For plot convenient reasons his brothers think he's dead.
Anyway, 3 years later, he's now Damian, first year in college in engineering. He struggled enough to come where he is, has no time for anybody... but even a genius needs human connections. And maybe he'll understand why when he crosses paths with April O'Neil, journalism major.

Summary
The invasion had taken a lot out of Donnie. With the wounds in his shell, to the nerve damage in his arm, to the... almost loss of his twin. His head was a jumbled mess.
Weeks had gone by, and the air in the lair didn't change much. Mikey tried his best to cheer everyone up, but Donnie could tell his little brother was struggling.
Leo hadn't woken up from the coma he was in, and Raph? Raph rarely left the med bay.
Entering the med bay, it took Donnie too long to notice the way Raph's posture was stiffened. How the snapper was glaring at him. How his eyes- Wait. Was that Krang goo on Raph's shoulder...?
