Ace watched him go, still grinning like he’d won something. But then an insistent thought buzzed into his head before he could stop himself. "Hey, hold up!"
Sanji paused mid-stride, shoulders rigid with irritation. He didn't bother turning, just cocked his head slightly in reluctant acknowledgment. Ace swallowed dryly, suddenly realizing he had no clue what to say next, only that he wasn't ready for this to be over. "So uh,” he started eloquently, scratching the back of his neck.“Why’d you attack me? Most people don’t launch themselves feet-first into a bonfire unless they’ve got a death wish…”
Sanji’s spine straightened. Then, slowly, he turned. His expression was a locked door, but his eyes…Ace could’ve sworn they flickered something fierce.
“Moron,” Sanji said, voice rough as gravel under velvet. “You can’t be a cook if you’re afraid of fire…”

The Straw Hat crew is finally back together after two years, and Nami couldn’t be happier. However, something is not exactly right. Like, Luffy’s brother is, in fact, the farthest thing from gentlemanly; Luffy’s brotherly love for him is not very brotherly at all; and two D. brothers on the ship create twenty times the chaos one of them does.
In other words, nothing particularly surprising. But Nami would still like some peace and quiet on this ship, thank you very much. Oh, and the opportunity to sleep undisturbed by any unnecessary sounds in the night, too.
